Bank Lending in Today’s Challenging Environment

$179.00

This training session will begin with a brief overview of issues facing the bank and the borrower during this time of uncertainty. The session will address SBA lending products including the Payroll Protection Program (PPP). Additionally, ways to better manage the bank’s “conventional” commercial loan portfolio will be discussed including “stress testing” the portfolio.

The session will then focus on how banks traditionally make credit decisions based on the five (5) C’s of credit- capacity (cash flow), capital (debt to equity), collateral (assets pledged), conditions (economic influence), and character (willingness to repay). This section will include the three (3) main areas of lending- consumer, mortgage, and commercial lending.

The attendee will then be exposed to the “loan process” including loan structure, loan support, documentation issues, closing and monitoring the loan, and loan collections. Additionally, the basics of loan compliance will be provided including Reg B, Z, TRID, BSA, and Fair Credit Reporting.

The session will conclude with real-life “case studies.”
