This seminar offers an engaging and refreshingly unique guide to governing a nonprofit organization toward mission success. This experience will focus upon what strong and effective nonprofit governance looks like. We examine how exemplary nonprofit boards function, standards of governing excellence, and what it takes to make boards and individual board members successful in their governing promises. We will discuss the differences in roles and responsibilities of the CEO/Executive Director and Board in seven key areas. The seminar also includes a review of recent legislation impacting nonprofit organizations. We will pay particular attention to ethical issues impacting attorneys serving on nonprofit Boards, with practical guidance and discussion of best practices.
