This 101 course is designed for Lawyers interested in acquiring the basic knowledge of what makes up a boutique construction practice focusing on how to protect your client. This course will also provide a background for perfecting your mechanic’s lien claims and also emphasizes some major litigation aspects, causes and defenses, including, common contractual provisions such as contingent payment clauses, warranty and indemnification claims. We will also discuss trust fund and prompt payment claims. This course is taught by a Texas attorney with experience in owning her own boutique construction practice in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
