The Commercial Drone Industry: Privacy, Security, Threats and Mitigation of Risk

Drones are important tools for businesses of all types and sizes. Drone technology continually evolves and advances each day. Unfortunately, this means that the cyber threats will also continue to evolve and advance so we must keep up-to-date on the applicable regulations and best practices to protect the transmission and storage of data collected through a drone.

In this webinar, we will discuss how drones can collect valuable data and increase productivity, safety and efficiency across all industries. We will also discuss the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Part 107 regulations, waivers for certain drone operations, the FAA “DroneZone” and the FAA’s LAANC portal, some newly proposed regulations and requests for comments issued by the FAA, and some recent waivers granted for drone operations over people and beyond visual line of sight. We will also discuss the privacy and security risks and threats and how to protect and secure that data.
