The presentation will provide an introduction to the new and multi-tiered VA highway as the presenter describes decisions relating to routes through the VA system from the filing of the initial claim (pack the car or just drive), through one of three lanes, and through more selections at the Board of Veterans Appeals, finally arriving at the US Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims which has one new off ramp of its own.
During this presentation the wide range of procedural changes and opportunities recently implemented by the VA will be explained. This will cover the changes (detours and new routes) to system’s basic road map as well as decisions which will have to be made by the practitioner and the appellant.
