Sarah Zabel, Esq.

Sarah Zabel (former Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge) is the owner of MAZE Resolutions PA. A full service alternative dispute resolutions firm. Services includes; civil and family mediation, arbitration, special magistrate, private judge, neutral umpire, co-mediation, nonbinding arbitration, pre-suit mediation, and elder law. She served on the Miami-Dade Circuit Court Bench for nearly 16 years. Sarah Zabel served in the Civil Division, Family Division, Juvenile Division, Criminal Division and Eleventh Judicial Circuit Appellate Panel.

Before the Bench she was in Private Practice. Her practice included civil, family and employment litigation. She also was an assistant state attorney with the child support enforcement office. She is a graduate of Nova Law. Her Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication is from Florida State University.

She was treasurer, secretary and Past President of Miami-Dade FAWL. Her professional activities include; Dade County Board Member for the Miami-Dade Commission for Women, Member of the Women’s Chamber of Commerce Mentor for the Women of Tomorrow, an organization for at high risk school girls, Member of Miami-Dade FAWL on Leadership, and the Committee Member of the Florida Bar Committee on Professionalism.

Sarah Zabel established Miami Shine which is now a statewide youth advocacy group for youth who are transitioning out of the Foster Care System. She Created a Pro Bono Pilot Project for pro se litigants in the Family Division where pro se litigants would be represented by lawyers through the Collaborative Law Process.

Awards received are FAWL President’s Award for Outstanding Service, Special Recognition Award from Harvey Ruvin, Clerk of the Circuit Court, Achievement Award from the State Attorney’s Office, Pro Bono Service Award, Hannah G. Solomon Award for Outstanding Leadership, Commitment and Service to our Community, Women of Achievement Award from Shaare Zedek, 2016 Visionary Award – Collaborative Family Law Institute for Outstanding Leadership in the Implementation of the Collaborative Law Pilot Project, Miami Dade Justice Association Appreciation for Public Service, Nominated in 2015 for the Chief Justice’s Judicial Excellence Award, Judicial Lifetime Achievement Award and The Devorah Judge Award.
