This year’s legislative session has officially come to an end and, as usual, there are stacks of new laws taking effect in January. While the COVID-19 pandemic was still challenging for the California Legislature this year, it didn’t stop legislators from sending several hundred bills to Governor Gavin Newsom, many of which impact California employers. Today we will take a look at some of the new laws signed by the governor of which employers should be aware. Unless otherwise stated, they’re effective starting January 1, 2022.
