As a new decade begins, so does the privacy and security of information landscape. This presentation focuses on key areas that both attorneys and their clients should be aware of in relation to regulations, guidance, case law and its application to the real world of healthcare and technology. HIPAA, the HITECH Act, 42 CFR Part 2, as well as the CCPA and similar laws will be covered.

The take-aways for participants should be the following: (1) an understanding of the new requirements associated with the CCPA and Part 2; (2) the view of HHS and the FDA regarding health apps and smart assistants; and (3) the interplay with HIPAA and the HITECH Act.
