State Court School Desegregation Cases: The New Frontier (Retired)

This course will provide a first-hand account of how and why school desegregation cases have moved from federal to state courts. The presenter is the lead lawyer for the plaintiffs in the case of Cruz-Guzman v. State of Minnesota and is a 25-year veteran of school desegregation lawsuits. He will describe how this case is changing the face of school desegregation litigation not just in Minnesota, but elsewhere, and how it has the potential to combat racial inequality and improve life outcomes for children of all races and socioeconomic backgrounds.
