What do you do when the IRS knocks on your client’s door?  Fear, anxiety, jail time – many different ideas pop into mind about what the government will do because of a failure to pay taxes.  But most of what our clients fear is more myth than reality.  Think about their anxiety:  Is the IRS going to show up one day and seize my house?  Levy on my income so I cannot provide for my family?  Shut down my business?  Take my retirement account?  The reality is everything is not fair game for the IRS, and there are limitations on what can be seized, when, and how.
