Kelly L. Burris got into family law to help people instead of corporations.
“I wanted to be able to help people get through these tough situations in their lives and do it the right way,” she said.
Ms. Burris has settled and litigated complex custody cases and property cases involving multi-million dollar estates. She has also successfully litigated child custody relocation cases. Ms. Burris said those experiences allow her to inform her clients of the best possible options and do what is right for them in each case.
“It is important to have an attorney that can understand and be supportive of you throughout the process while doing what is necessary to protect your interests and your children’s interests through litigation or settlement,” Ms. Burris said.
Ms. Burris is licensed in Texas and Oklahoma. She is also Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas; Juris Doctor from Texas Tech School of Law where she was an Articles Editor on the Law Review. Ms. Burris was a Director on the board for the Texas Young Lawyers Association from 2002-2003 and again from 2007-2011. In addition, she also served as Director on the board for the Dallas Young Lawyers Association from 2005-2011.
Ms. Burris has held memberships to the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists since 2008, the Texas Bar Foundation since 2008, the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers Foundation since 2004, and the College of the State Bar of Texas and the Texas State Bar Association.
