Mila Carlson is the Founder and President of Mila Carlson & Associates, P.C., Nurse Consulting/Nurse Life Care Planning. Mila’s background is in medical/surgical nursing, enterprise patient scheduling, and healthcare administration. She is a member of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC), the American Association of Nurse Life Care Planners (AANLCP), and the National MSP Network (MSPN; formerly NAMSAP).
Mila G. Carlson is also the Founder and President of Success(ion) Solutions, Inc., a professional services company that assists in developing a business continuity plan for solo entrepreneurs and independent medical-legal consulting companies. In 2017, Mila created Success(ion) Solutions, Inc. She recently co-authored an article, “Succession Planning: An Overlooked Business Strategy”, which was published in The Journal of Legal Nurse Consulting (JLNC) Spring 2021 edition.
With more than 40 years of healthcare experience, Mila assists defense and plaintiff attorneys with medical-related cases, such as medical malpractice, personal injury, criminal or family law. Life Care Planning options include preparing life care plans/ medical cost projections, critiquing opposing counsel plans, and providing expert witness testimony on these plans. Mila completed a Medicare Set-Aside (MSA) certification program. In 2017 she obtained her Certified Medicare Secondary Payer Professional (CMSP) designation. In 2019, Mila obtained her Certified Medicare Secondary Payer Professional-Fellow (CMSP-F) designation.
A previous article on Medical Record Fact Witness, co-authored with LNC colleague, Joanne Walker, was chosen as the 2018 JLNC Article of the Year. Mila has presented various topics to attorneys, paralegals, legal nurse consultants, rehabilitation professionals and life care planners utilizing in-person, virtual, and conference formats.
