Course Description
This program will discuss legislative developments and the increase in consumer protection enforcement actions brought by regulatory bodies regarding artificial intelligence (AI) and the legal and practical implications for businesses. Attendees will gain insights into regulatory expectations and actions relating to the use of AI, governance, risk management, and compliance strategies, and the landscape of applicable state and federal laws.
Syllabus
- A high-level overview of AI and related terminology
- Recent enforcement actions involving claims of “AI washing,” or misleading statements about a company’s use of AI
- An examination of laws that are designed to protect consumers from discriminatory and other negative outcomes when AI is used
- How a company can develop and implement an AI governance program to reduce the risks of potential harm from the deployment of AI tools
