This course will address a few currently popular topics within the area of animal law – dog bites, pet custody between unmarried parties, and the intersection of animal law with other areas of the law.

    • How courts view pets: property vs. companion animals
    • Factors that influence custody decisions (e.g., primary caretaker, well-being of the animal)
