Course Description
This session will provide an outline of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the federal consumer privacy statute that regulates calling, texting, and faxing. TCPA is a significant source of consumer class action litigation and failure to comply with the statute can expose a business to significant financial liability. Our discussion will include an outline of the TCPA and associated regulations, highlights of key compliance considerations, and a review of examples of noteworthy TCPA cases, including cases that have ended with high-dollar penalties or settlements being paid by defendants.
