Course Description

Vocational Experts can provide opinions regarding employability, earning capacity, and whether there is an impairment to earning capacity due to medical limitations. The expert must follow a standardized process to make these determinations using available tools, data and research. This training will provide the steps experts follow and the tools they utilize in this process.

Syllabus

  1. Methodology – The process followed to form an opinion
  2. Classification Tools – Publicly available and government produced
  3. Employment Data sources – Federal statistics and local labor market data
  4. Vocational Testing – Types of testing and reasons for their use
  5. Medical Aspects of Employability – Physical, Cognitive, and Mental health can have workplace implications
  6. Demonstrated Opinion – An example of how an opinion is formed
  7. Factors of a Report – Things to look for in a vocational expert report
