Gary J. Ross is a partner in the New York office of McCarter & English, where he leads the fund formation practice. Prior to joining McCarter, Gary founded Ross Law Group, a securities law boutique he led for 12 years, where he was joined by several colleagues who now practice with him at McCarter. He has extensive experience advising on SEC-registered and exempt capital markets transactions. Gary is the host of the American Bar Association podcast VC Law and recently authored a book on venture capital law. Before founding Ross Law Group, he worked at Sidley Austin and Alston & Bird, as well as the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where he was part of the Troubled Asset Relief Program. Gary served as an adjunct professor at Brooklyn Law School for five years and has testified in court as an expert witness in securities law matters. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Miami and his law degree from Northwestern University Law School.
