Jeffrey Ment provides legal counsel to travel companies around the world and has more than thirty-five years of experience in the travel industry. Before attending law school, Mr. Ment gained valuable industry experience as a travel advisor, tour guide, and sales manager for two airlines.
Mr. Ment earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut in 1989 and his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law in 1992. He is admitted to practice law in New York and Connecticut, as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the District of Connecticut, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He has extensive experience mediating cases and was selected as a mediator for Litigation Alternatives, Inc. in West Hartford, Connecticut.

His practice focuses on defending personal injury claims, advising on national and international compliance matters, seller of travel law compliance, contract drafting, risk management, general corporate representation, and the resolution of IATA/ARC issues.
With clients located throughout Africa, the United Kingdom, South America, Europe, the Caribbean, and across the United States, Mr. Ment is trusted to handle complex travel-related legal matters around the world. He regularly represents clients in liability litigation involving accidents and incidents, providing strategic guidance to help travel companies minimize risk and resolve disputes.
A sought-after speaker in the travel industry, Mr. Ment regularly presents to organizations including the National Tour Association, United States Tour Operators Association, American Society of Travel Advisors, Family Travel Association, Adventure Travel Trade Association, Wellness Tourism Association, Student & Youth Travel Association, and the International Tour Management Institute. He is a member of The International Forum of Travel and Tourism Attorneys, The International Society of Hospitality Consultants, and the Academy of Hospitality Industry Attorneys.
Mr. Ment also writes a legal column for Travel Age West and is frequently quoted in the media on travel-related legal issues. He is a founding attorney of The Ment Law Group, which maintains offices in Hartford and Westport, Connecticut, and New York City.
