Lesley McCall Grossberg, Esq.

Lesley McCall Grossberg leads Ice Miller’s Intellectual Property practice and is an experienced IP litigator, representing clients in patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret, and unfair competition matters in federal district and appellate courts, as well as in proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and Section 337 investigations before the International Trade Commission.

Lesley brings particular strength in patent litigation, advising clients across life sciences, consumer products, food and beverage, manufacturing, and emerging technology industries on infringement, validity, and enforcement matters. She translates complex technical and legal issues into clear, actionable strategies that align litigation posture with business priorities, risk tolerance, and long‑term market positioning.

In addition to her litigation practice, Lesley serves as a trusted adviser on trademark portfolio strategy and global brand management. She works closely with in-house legal and business teams to oversee trademark clearance, prosecution, enforcement, and licensing programs, helping clients build and maintain portfolios that support business growth while managing risk across jurisdictions. Her approach emphasizes proactive counseling, efficient portfolio management, and enforcement strategies that protect brand equity without unnecessary disruption to operations.

Lesley counsels clients on trademark disputes and enforcement actions, guiding them through oppositions, cancellations, and infringement matters with an eye toward practical resolutions and long-term brand strength. She also advises on copyright disputes, domain name enforcement matters, IP licensing, due diligence, and transactional support, ensuring intellectual property assets are properly valued and protected in corporate and commercial transactions.

Before entering private practice, Lesley clerked for judges in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, experience that continues to inform her strategic and courtroom-focused approach to litigation.

Highly active in the intellectual property community, Lesley is a Senior Editor of the International Trademark Association’s peer-reviewed journal, The Trademark Reporter; an adjunct professor of trademarks and unfair competition at Temple University Beasley School of Law; and a frequent speaker on IP litigation and brand management issues. She is a past president of the Philadelphia Intellectual Property Law Association (PIPLA).

Lesley is consistently recognized for her intellectual property work by leading industry publications, including World Trademark Review (WTR) 1000, Managing Intellectual Property’s IP Stars, The Best Lawyers in America® (Litigation – Intellectual Property), and World Intellectual Property Review.
