Jonathan Turner is a barrister based in London practising primarily in intellectual property and competition law. He has acted in a number of leading cases in these areas and his textbook Intellectual Property and EU Competition Law has been described as the leading work of reference on the interface between them. He is a graduate of Cambridge University (MA in law) and the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Licence Spéciale en Droit Européen). In 2011 Jonathan and about a dozen other British lawyers founded UK Lawyers for Israel as a voluntary association to provide legal support to Israel and to counter BDS and other anti-Israel activity. The organization now has around 1500 members and supporters around the world and its patrons include some of the most distinguished members of the legal profession in the UK. Jonathan has chaired the organization since its inception and has played a leading role in many of its successful operations, including the arrest in Greece in 2011 of a flotilla of ships intended to sail to Gaza; the cancellation of the resolution of the Royal Institute of British Architects seeking the suspension of the Israeli Architects Association from the International Union of Architects; and the overriding of anti-Israel resolutions at numerous British universities.
