Brett Buterick

Brett M. Buterick is counsel at A.Y. Strauss, where he is a member of the firm’s Franchise and Hospitality and Litigation practice groups.

Brett is a commercial lawyer with experience counseling technology startups and representing established businesses in complex litigation. He has defended entities in federal and state court matters involving breach of contract, fraud, business competition, consumer protection, and trademark infringement. He has extensive experience assisting franchisor and franchisee clients in transactional matters and dispute resolution.

Prior to joining A.Y. Strauss, Brett was an associate at a New Jersey-based regional law firm, practicing in the firm’s litigation, creditor’s rights, and venture capital groups. Brett clerked for the Honorable Paula T. Dow, P.J. Ch., Superior Court of New Jersey, where he assisted in resolution of shareholder oppression, partnership dissolution, and corporate and personal property disputes.
