Dr. Neil Daswani is Co-Academic Director of Stanford’s Advanced Cybersecurity Program and CISO-in-Residence at Firebolt Ventures. Formerly CISO at Symantec’s Consumer Business Unit, LifeLock, and QuantumScape, he has also led security initiatives and cutting-edge research at Twitter/X, Google, and Stanford. He advises multiple VC funds and co-authored the books Big Breaches and Foundations of Security. Dr. Daswani holds over a dozen patents, has published extensively, and speaks frequently at top industry events. He earned a PhD and MS in computer science from Stanford, and a BS with honors from Columbia University.
