Course Description
This program provides a focused overview of FinCEN’s upcoming real estate reporting requirements and their impact on real estate and title practices. Participants will learn FinCEN’s role in combating money laundering, the shift from GTOs to nationwide reporting by title insurance agencies, and the likelihood and timing of final regulations.
The course explains how the rules will apply beginning March 1, 2026, including reporting requirements for residential property, cash transactions, and purchases by entities or trusts, along with obligations to disclose the origin of funds. Attendees will also gain clarity on key regulatory definitions—such as what constitutes “residential property” and “cash”—and receive practical guidance through a review of the ALTA buyer-side and seller-side collection forms.
