Course Description
In handling emotional distress claims, plaintiff’s attorneys must carefully balance legal strategy with sensitivity to their clients’ emotional well-being. This involves building a solid foundation of evidence, assessing the severity of distress, and using mental health experts to strengthen the case. Adopting a trauma-informed approach helps ensure that clients feel supported and protected throughout the process. Effective calculation of damages and a readiness to counter typical defenses are also key to achieving fair compensation for clients. Importantly, attorneys should prioritize self-care, as these cases can be emotionally demanding and affect their own mental health.
