Course Description

This program will examine the changes in legal practice since 2020 which have enabled many practitioners to operate their practices in a fully remote fashion, sometimes even from the outside of the state they practice in. We will also explore some of the ethical considerations in operating your practice remotely as well as discuss recommendations for a technology stack to assist practitioners in implementing their goal of operating a fully remote practice.

Syllabus

  1. Discuss how legal practice has changed since the coronavirus pandemic, enabling many lawyers to operate their law firms remotely
  2. Identify ethical considerations operating your legal practice remotely without a physical office or from outside of the state you are practicing in
  3. Discuss useful technology in implementing your remote practice
  4. Predict whether the future of legal practice in New Jersey and other states will continue to follow this trend toward allowing more remote work
