Sandy Patrick is a Professor of Law and the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon. She has taught a wide range of courses, including Lawyering I and II, Advanced Lawyering, Advanced Legal Writing, and Foundations of Professional Practice. Prior to teaching, Patrick clerked on the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals, handled appellate cases in state and federal courts as an Assistant Attorney General, and later practiced at the international law firm of Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton, working primarily in civil litigation. She has co-authored four textbooks, including Becoming a Legal Writer, with Professors Boyle-Laisure and Coughlin, as well as A Lawyer Writes and An Advocate Persuades, the two most used legal writing texts in the industry. She is a two-time recipient of the Leo Levinson Award for excellence in teaching.Â
