Bryce Maxwell, CPA, MAcc, is a nationally respected settlement tax specialist at Amicus Settlement Planners, where he helps plaintiffs and their attorneys reduce taxes on legal settlements using settlement-specific tax planning strategies.
As a Certified Public Accountant with extensive experience in both corporate and public accounting, Bryce brings a rare combination of financial precision, tax expertise, and practical insight to the settlement planning process. He advises clients nationwide on how to structure their settlements in a way that reduces tax liability and maximizes long-term financial outcomes. His strategies often include structured settlement annuities, qualified settlement funds, and tools like the Plaintiff Recovery Trust, all designed to preserve flexibility while optimizing tax efficiency at the time of settlement.
Prior to joining Amicus, Bryce held senior finance and accounting roles at several high-profile organizations. He began his career at Ernst & Young (EY), one of the “Big Four” global accounting firms, where he rose to the level of manager and advised Fortune 500 clients on complex financial issues. He later served as Assistant Controller at Rio Tinto, one of the world’s largest metals and mining companies, and as Director of Accounting at Cottonwood Residential, a $2.5 billion real estate investment trust (REIT) with nationwide operations.
Bryce earned both his Master of Accountancy (MAcc) and his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Information Systems from Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Business, a top-ranked accounting program.
At Amicus, Bryce plays a key role in helping plaintiffs—especially those involved in high-dollar employment, discrimination, defamation, and other taxable cases—make informed financial decisions at the time of settlement. He specializes in structuring settlement proceeds in the most tax-efficient way possible, ensuring clients retain more of their recovery.
Bryce is based in Farmington, Utah, where he enjoys spending time with his wife and their three children. On weekends, you’ll often find them outdoors riding dirt bikes and snow bikes together, exploring trails and mountains year-round.
